Electric Dog Fence RI- Contain My Dog Contain & Train

Electric Dog Fence, Hidden dog fence and Hidden dog fence all refers a method of pet containment. Contain My Dog Contain & Train is the leader in pet containment in RI, MA, CT.

The truth is that there have been no significant advances in pet containment technology for many years. Despite all the hoopla that some advertising suggests.

All containment systems work the same way and have the same components; a transmitter that send the signal out the the perimeter wire. The perimeter wire that is usually buried underground that defines the area where the dog will be allowed to go and the special receiver collar that the dog wears.

The part most tend to underplay or minimalism is the proper containment training.

Proper containment training is what makes the difference between a containment system that works as we want- keeping the dog safely contained within the boundaries of the yard- and one that doesn’t because the dog continues to ‘run through’ the boundary.

When training is done properly and thoroughly the dog will respect the boundary and utilize the whole safe are of the yard for play. This is great for most of us pet dog owners. To have a dog we love and to be able to open the door -or not worry when one of the children opens the door that the dog will be off, running down the street.  With a successful containment system the dog sees the door to the outside as the entry to the yard only, not a pass to explore the neighborhood.

One thing to note is that for the first six to eight weeks if you want to take the dog out of the yard is to do something other than just removing the containment collar and walking him out. It is advisable that for the first few months you put the dog in the car, and remove the containment collar then drive the dog out of the yard. We want to be sure that the dog doesn’t test this boundary and by utilizing this method for a few months the dog learns that the only way to leave the yard is in the car.

In a subsequent article we will go through the process of how to successfully walk the dog out of the yard at the right time after he is acclimated to the containment system.
