MA Dog Park Stodder’s Neck- Hingham, Massachusetts

The Hingham Dog Park, located off of Lincoln Street 3A North, isn’t like most dog parks. It’s like a normal city park but completely dedicated to dogs. This large park has woods, benches, hills, and a trail that go es around the entire area. The park, also known as Stodder’s Neck, is a penin sula, therefore, it is surrounded by water on three sides, allowing dogs to go for a swim if they’re feeling hot, as well as preventing them from escaping. However, the entrance to the park has a small gate that does open and close, so you have to be careful about your dogs running out into the parking lot or into traffic. By the main entrance, there’s a bulletin board with dog related material, along with a water bubbler. This water bubbler is pretty cool because it has a spigot for adults, a slightly shorter one for children, and of course, a much lower bubbler for dogs. The trail around the park allows you to exercise with your dog and see some great views across the water. There are plenty of benches for relaxing and it’s easy to find a spot in the shade of the trees. With hills and rocks and more ground than they can possibly cover, dogs love Stod der’s Neck. In the words of one of the regulars, “When we come here, it’s a dogs world and we’re just living
in it.”
